These tools can help you save water inside and outside of your home.

When to Water

Residents and business in Sacramento are required to follow a watering schedule and can water their landscapes with sprinklers based on the season.

From March 1 to October 31, landscapes can be watered up to two days per week. From November 1 to February 28, landscapes can be watered once a week.

Track your water use

If you have a City of Sacramento water meter you can track your water use online and in real-time.

IRRIGATION CALCULATOR

This calculator shows you how much to water your landscape based the current water schedule, your site-specific information and recent weather conditions.

Enter your zip code, plant material, sun/shade exposure, wind, slope, soil, and irrigation method to help save water.

Home water-use Calculator

This water calculator compares your water use to a similar average and efficient house in your region.

It also estimates the energy savings and carbon footprint of your hot water usage and helps identify specific areas for improving overall household water efficiency.

Customer service and Mobile app

When reporting information to the City, please be sure to include:

  • Days and times the watering is occurring
