Financial Empowerment

The City’s inclusive economic development team supports local residents in building stability through housing, employment, and small business development.

We also manage a variety of related opportunities that help residents become even more financially healthy. These initiatives fall under our FINANCIAL EMPOWERMENT umbrella.

The City’s flagship financial empowerment program is the Financial Empowerment Center (FEC), which offers FREE professional one-on-one financial coaching for local residents aged 18 and older.

The City’s Financial Empowerment Manager is Amy Williamson, who joined staff in the fall of 2019. Prior to her move to the public sector, she had 15 years of experience building and managing financial opportunity programs in Sacramento through local nonprofit organizations.
