about us - Summer @ City Hall (s@ch)

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The Summer @ City Hall (S@CH) program is a compelling collaboration between the City of Sacramento's Department of Youth, Parks, & Community EnrichmentYouth Division Youth Division along with the Sacramento City Unified School District (SCUSD), Twin Rivers Unified School District (TRUSD), and the Natomas Unified School District (NUSD). For the upcoming Summer 2024 S@CH program current Freshman, Sophomores, and Juniors are invited to apply for this amazing summer adventure.  Students must attend a SCUSD, TRUSD, or NUSD high school OR live within the Sacramento city limits to qualify.

Summer @ City Hall (S@CH) is a six-week summer interactive learning experience that provides high school students the opportunity to learn about local government processes and how to become an active citizen in their community. Student participants are supported throughout the program by a variety of team members including credentialed teachers delivering a daily curriculum focusing on civic engagement, local level governmental structures, and youth development.

Upon completion of the program, participants receive five high school elective credits (students that attend high schools outside of the partnering districts receive a letter of completion for all instructional time as community service hours) and a monetary stipend in the amount of $500.
